Dr. Bruce S. Hill, MD, FACR

Dr. Hill is dedicated to the integration of mind and body and consciousness in his Integrated Psychiatry practice.


Dr. Hill trained in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the Medical University of South Carolina.  After becoming board-certified as a physician in both Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, Dr. Hill practiced in both hospital-based and private practice rheumatology for over ten years.


After several years, Dr. Hill became aware of the complex interactions between mind and body and symptoms of mind-body syndromes.  Needing to understand the mind better, Dr. Hill trained additionally in psychiatry and psychoanalysis at Emory University School of Medicine.


Dr. Hill brings experience with psychoanalysis, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, group therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy, as well as psychopharmacology and medical/immunologic therapies. Dr. Hill has also studied aspects of consciousness research and has been involved in research to understand mental functions in systemic inflammatory conditions. 


Dr. Hill has also worked in an international psychiatry clinic and has enjoyed seeing patients with a wide range of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.


Dr. Hill is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, and the American Psychoanalytic Association.   He is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.
